It is with careful thought and consideration that we at Victoria Air Maintenance have decided to cease allowing all non-essential personnel into our hangar and offices. Aircraft pickup and drop off will be by appointment only. If you require part purchases, please call or email ahead and place your order. We will be available to take payments over the phone by credit card or by e-transfer. Curbside pickup will be arranged. You can contact us by phone or email from Monday to Friday 8:00 to 4:30.
COVID-19 Safety Plan
Masks are now required by all visitors and staff in our hangars and offices. We thank you for your cooperation.
In response to recent updates in Work Safe BC’s guidelines for preventing exposure to COVID-19 in the workplace, the following plan has been developed to ensure the risk of exposure to employees and customers of VAM is minimal.
Entrances to the hangar will be locked to everyone but essential staff with entrance being granted to visitors upon appointment only. Upon entrance visitors will be informed of the social distancing protocol in effect.
Adequate hand-washing facilities or hand sanitizer must be used upon arriving for work, before and after breaks, before and after handling common tools and equipment, and after handling cash or other materials.
Common areas, including washrooms, equipment, tools, common tables, desks, light switches, and door handles will be cleaned with an alcohol based cleaner twice a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. All employees engaged in cleaning will have adequate training and materials.
The use of shared implements, containers, or other articles such as utensils, plates, and coffee mugs are strictly prohibited. Such items shall be cleaned immediately after use and put away.
A distance of two meters between employees and/or members of the public must be strictly adhered to at all times. If an employee is unable to perform their work while adhering to such protocol, appropriately rated masks must be used to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 between individuals. Employees must wash their hands after such work has commenced.
The break room will be limited to four employees and/or members of the public at one time, part stores and the library will be limited to two employees and/or members of the public at one time, and smaller places such as bathrooms will be limited to one employee and/or member of the public at one time. Occupancy limits will be posted in each area accordingly.
Workers who suddenly feel ill must report to the company’s health and safety representative.
Anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 including fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, and painful swallowing, must self isolate at home for a minimum of 10 days.
Anyone under the direction of the provincial health officer to self-isolate must follow those instructions. Anyone who has arrived from outside of Canada, or who is a contact of a confirmed COVID-19 case, to self-isolate for 14 days and monitor symptoms.
This safety plan is periodically being reviewed and updated. Please check back for the latest revision.
